Today we’ve got a lady who, if I say she’s an alpha female, I don’t think that’s a stretch. Let me just give you a little bit of a background here. She’s the founder of Kuli Kuli Foods. It’s moringa, a superfood I know and love. She found moringa when she was working for the Peace Corps as a volunteer. And of all things, she’s gotten her brand into Wal-Mart! So I want to know how you go from the Peace Corps through to the White House. By the way, she also wrote speeches or something along those lines for President Obama, I don’t know when the lady sleeps. Welcome, Lisa, and congratulations on all this amazing success! Hey everybody, it’s Clarissa Burt! I love Rita Romano and you love her along with me because you’ve seen her probably different times on social media that we came out with a lovely, beautiful cookbook the “Italian Gluten Free Gastronomy Cookbook, ‘The art of savoring and preparing gluten-free dishes'” The story behind it is I lived in Italy for 30 years and found out the hard way that I am highly gluten intolerant, gluten-sensitive. Rita, on the other hand, is a world-renowned chef with many restaurants and cookbooks. We collaborated and we’re so thrilled with the book. It’s got 70 different recipes in it, each has a beautiful photograph that Rita took. Every recipe is gluten-free and we get the internationality of Rita with her being Italian. I’m thrilled because we got to come out with something I don’t think has ever been done which is the marriage between gluten-free and Italian cooking. Food in Italy is full of gluten. Here In the Limelight today we have one of the Men We Love. We have a lot in common because as you all know, I lived in Italy for 30 years and Ron is back from Sardinia where he had some awesome exchanges and a little vacation. He’s been a brand in his own right for the last 40 years working as a salesperson at Fred Segal. Mostly in California, am I wrong when I say that?

Ron Robinson: I used to work for Fred between ’68 & ’78 and I ended up as vice president of the company. Currently, he owns none of the stores, he sold the name to another company and they’ve since licensed some things out.   (more…)

Here In the Limelight, we have another extraordinary guest coming in from Quito, Ecuador but he is originally from Holland. Gorgeous place and it’s the home of flowers. Not only, but flowers for the most part. Peter Persoon, the founder and CEO of Natural Fragrance Rose, white being my favorite color. We have this beautiful pink rose in the studio and ever since I’ve opened it up, it has changed my idea about what home fragrance should be about.
